Recently I was contacted by a fellow who is into historical re-enactments. He was looking for a plan for a wooden canteen and wondered if I could draw one for him. He had a couple of photos of a Civil War-era canteen and just a few overall dimensions. I worked from those dimensions and by eyeball and came up with something that would work. With the right treatment, the replica should look pretty realistic.

I use a few extensions in the process of drawing the canteen. They are: Bezier Spline, TIG-Weld, and Trim and Keep. The last one requires SketchUp pro because it uses Trim from the Solid Tools set.
