Woodcraft - Wood River No. 5 Handplane
The thick blade on this plane is a nice feature but its back was high in the center, making it difficult to flattennd was also thick, but its machined edge needed a little refining for optimal contact. The sole needed flattening, but the sides were square to the sole. The Bedrockstyle frog worked well and made mouth adjustments easy. After a small amount of work the Wood River planed fairly well but the Bailey-style depth and lateral adjusters both had a significant amount of backlash.
