Great show guys. I am just starting to listen to you all. I realize it is a pod cast designed for radio or listening on a mobile device. As Matt was showing his box, and his small smoothing board, I was wondering if you could show some of the different hard stones for sharping. I have been given a series of stones one black, one like a white onyx, another square grayish in color. I was also given a round one with two different grits on either side. I have taught myself on water stones and have had some great success.
I can not say enough about the magazine each one I get I read from cover to cover. I might suggest an article on stones. I have read a lot on sharping in it self and the different techniques to achieve the best results. I am still fine tuning mine, but would love to learn more on stones.
Thanks,
Richard Garrow
I miss Ed....Tom's librarian voice is tough to hear. I get he's "sticking to the recipe for success", but it seems forced. Make it your own, Tom, don't try to copy Ed. Also, can we please stop saying "snark"?? Ya, Matt's humor/attitude is welcomed and lightens up the mood but, we get it. Really. Don't have to point it out constantly.
Outstanding podcast though. Everyone whining about the banter being too much needs to go listen to the Woodtalk podcast. Their yammering is endless...
Was so happy to hear you mention Whitechapel! A good friend of mine's father started it. For posterity's sake, its located in Jackson Hole, Wyoming, not Arizona :)
Love your show! Nothing like some waterstone nerdery to get through the workday.
Amazing Show.I like it.
