STL 100: Matt is out of control, plus a mystery guest
It’s our 100th episode, with a special guest to celebrate. Plus we interview new contributing editor Chris Gochnour. Also, we chat up our favorite dovetail methods, and Matt gets a talkin’ to.
Every two weeks, a team of Fine Woodworking staffers answers questions from readers on Shop Talk Live, Fine Woodworking‘s biweekly podcast. Send your woodworking questions to [email protected] for consideration in the regular broadcast! Our continued existence relies upon listener support. So if you enjoy the show, be sure to leave us a five-star rating and maybe even a nice comment on our iTunes page.

Hey guys,
Haven't listened to this one yet, but I had to confess that two times in the past month I was guilty of digging into the archives to "get me a little Pernik"".....
Cheers
Hi guys,
How difficult it must be to step in to an established podcast. Tom, this was your best episode of all time, for this week.
Matt and Mike, thanks for sticking with it, I appreciate what each of you brings to the discussion.
Now, if only Ed could come back, even if for just a minute at the end of one of your podcasts.....
I'm a newbee woodworker and was now aware that running a butcher block end grain piece was not recommend through a planner and so I did it and expected some tear out as the piece exited but over all worked very well. Some times it pays to be ignorant . You are not limited by biases. It was much faster than a hand plane in my hands especially and a few thin passes gave a smooth result. Love the podcast. Len Pierce
Thanks, Michael.
Awesome job Tom. Best podcast in a long time. You need to bring Asa back for a guest appearance to be fair given Ed's surprise this week. Looking forward to listening for years to come.
I am interested in the Sealcoat finishing technique that Mike talks about towards the end of the podcast. Would you recommend that for finishing new kitchen cabinet drawer boxes, as well? I'm making the drawer boxes out of soft maple and they will have oak faces that I'll be staining and finishing the way that I've done the rest of the cabinets. Thanks!
Thanks for having me on, guys. It was good to be in the hot seat again. Like I said, you're doing an awesome job. And congratulations to Matt on his new promotion!
I love the podcast keep up the good work! Even though you guys are not comedians and therefore legally not allowed to tell jokes you still get me laugh at least once per episode.
