Reader Doug Stith from Concord, NH sent in this video of his take on a wooden ball jig he found in issue #253*. Honestly, I’ve never once needed to make a wooden sphere but as I was working on that issue swap I kept thinking about this jig. It’s nice to see it works as advertised. As you’ll see in Doug’s video it’s not a technique for the impatient woodworker.

Hi everyone. I'm Alan and a newbie on here. I live in the County of Kent in England. I'm passionate about woodworking and as I now have a little more time, am able to work on more projects and build up my workshop.
I've just subscribed to FW but find navigating the site a bit confusing as there doesn't seem to be clear cut links to: view videos; post a blog (this has taken about an hour to find, and I don't know if it will even post, or even if I've posted it in the correct area!); view magazine issues, etc.
I'd appreciate a bit of guidance please, and look forward to a lot more interaction once I get used to the site.
