Chairmaker David Douyard doesn’t take sizing his chair tenons lightly. In fact, he measures to the thousandth of an inch to be certain that the joints in his chairs will last more than one lifetime. Thankfully David’s toolset for accurate joinery is as simple as it gets–a parting/beading tool and an open-end wrench.
Note from Ben: Unfortunately, because of the need for microphones, we weren’t able to wear a face mask, but, as a friend recently pointed out, it’s a must when turning, especially for novices like Anissa and me.
