STL200: Live from North Jersey
Tom, Mike, and Ben take the show on the road and answer questions from the North Jersey Woodworkers Association liveThe North Jersey Woodworkers Association or NJWA for short is a community of woodworkers of all types and levels of experience. We have some professionals, some beginners and every skill level in between. Our goal is to share our experience with one another and to support and grow the woodworking community in the Northern New Jersey area. Regardless of woodworking interest or level of experience, we invite you to join us. For directions, membership information and club activities follow this link: About NJWA.
Every two weeks, a team of Fine Woodworking staffers answers questions from readers on Shop Talk Live, Fine Woodworking‘s biweekly podcast. Send your woodworking questions to [email protected] for consideration in the regular broadcast! Our continued existence relies upon listener support. So if you enjoy the show, be sure to leave us a five-star rating and maybe even a nice comment on our iTunes page.

If you do this again, either pass a mic around to the questioners, or have someone in front of a mic repeat it. We can't hear the people in the audience ask the questions.

Yes, very frustrating to watch and listen to. The wide-angle shot is annoying also.
I fast forwarded though most of it.
Have one of the Association members walk around with a wireless mic. Half of the people won't speak directly into the mike unless you prompt them. Costs you nothing.
I was hoping for something a bit special for the 200th episode. Ben's intro prepared me for the fact that I was going to be disappointed. I find it strange that FW actually went ahead with this as a Shop Talk Live episode.
This was a first time experiment for us. We're coming up with better ideas for next time.
Also, we wanted to do something big for the 200th episode. In fact, it haunted me all week. But with many of us in San Diego the week before, and an issue shipping right as we left and one about to ship when we got back... it just wasn't in the cards.
WOW ! I'm on the other side. the podcast is not all these guys do, besides putting out a magazine there is a lot of things going on behind the scene with the shows and other videos and interviews they do. How much ends upon the editing room floor, so to say also. And they all must have some sort of personal life also they try to maintain. I say cut them a break! I bet there is not a staff of 100 people working there. There is only so much time in a day, and I know for me it seems to be going faster and faster. Please give them a break is all I ask.
I want to assure you I wasn't complaining about the podcast. You probably weren't aware of the difficulty hearing the questioners. Just making a suggestion to improve the net one.
