A steam-powered box factory
The Phillips Brothers Mill and Box Factory in Oak Run, California really has it figured out—they're powered by sawdust! We think we’re so smart with our battery-powered drills and our 3-hp tablesaws. Ha! The Phillips Brothers Mill and Box Factory in Oak Run, California really has it figured out—they’re powered by sawdust! Sure, it’s not reasonable for us all to switch over to line-drive machines running off of a steam engine, but it sure is fun to watch their operation in action.
Also, it should be noted that this is in fact a working box factory making wholesale and retail boxes since 1898. Pretty cool!

That's the coolest woodworking video I've seen in quite awhile!
Thanks Ben
Very cool indeed! That old dog must certainly be deaf by now. Looks like he may have caught his tail in one of those belt-driven pulleys at one time or another. Such an amazing operation from a bygone era still going today.
Very cool. That said, our local OSHA inspector would lose his mind if he saw this. I guess California has no requirements for machine guarding?
Yes Bluemo, it was very loud in there! How's Boondoggy doing?
That was enjoyable to watch and would be even more fun to visit
