I really enjoy projects where you can use up some scrap you don’t want to burn. I enjoy projects that are kind of mechanical but more in a clever way than a complicated way. I enjoy projects that will see actual use every day by their maker.

What is the purpose of cutting grooves on both sides of the numbered pieces? It seems they would slide within the box the same way without them.
Did you try it without the the grooves? I'm going to try this with my students.
