I like these weekly news bits, Ben. Keep up the good work.
Ben- I love that you save me the time of looking for what is new and cool in tools. Like you, I have switched to using metric measurement for length when I can, or when appropriate devices are available in metric. Could you do part of each session or maybe some of an entire session on metric-measured tools?

Regarding the hard wax oil. I haven't tried the general brand (didn't know they made it) but Rubio Monocoat has become my go to finish. Super easy to apply, easier to repair(it only sticks to raw wood) and gives a nice matte finish. Adding a coat of their Maintainance Oil gives a satin sheen. It's expensive, but a little goes a long way, I tend to use about half of what I would use with a typical film finish.
