Some projects need more than drawings
Always have your notes handy.
The making of a Maloof Lowback Chair is unquestionably difficult. The construction and fitting of the arms, I think, is the most difficult procedure in this project. Having a SketchUp model and dimensional drawings is effective, but not sufficient for achieving a successful result. Therefore, in layout I prepared a companion document for my students showing more detail and notes explaining critical steps in the making of the arms. The following is a reproduction of the pages in this layout document.
There are many ways to have a successful reproduction of these arms, but I believe this method and additional detail will achieve better results.
