Made You Look: How to fix your table saw
Erik Curtis shares how he sets up his table saw for accuracy.Erik Curtis’ YouTube channel is full of great informational woodworking content, but this video in particular is something I think is foundational to using a table saw safely, and with precision. Aligning the blade parallel to the miter gauge is crucial for accuracy on any crosscut or tenoning jigs, and fence alignment ensures safe ripping cuts. With accuracy on the machine established, you can adjust your shop made jigs accordingly. Erik makes the whole process approachable, using a 12″ combination square and an allen wrench and/or wrench for any adjustments. Don’t fret over absolute precision. Erik reminds us “All we need to be is within a thousands of an inch, and that’s going to be more than accurate enough for what we’re doing as woodworkers on these machines.”
