IWF 2006: Grizzly Goes Big With New Table Saw
Riving knife, 12-in. blade, and 5 HP motor among features on moderately-priced Extreme series cabinet sawGrizzly Industrial unveiled its new Extreme series cabinet saw at the 2006 International Woodworking Fair (IWF) that includes a number of high-end features such as a riving knife, 12-in. blade, 5 HP motor, rear table extension, and a digital blade-angle gauge. Despite its size and features list, at $2,000 the G0605X cabinet saw is comparably priced to the more common 10-in. cabinet saws like the Delta Unisaw.
In this video, Fine Woodworking editor Asa Christiana takes a look at the G0605X 12-in. Extreme series tablesaw on display in Grizzly’s booth at IWF. Most notable, according to Christiana, is the riving knife, a safety feature common on European tablesaws but only recently showing up on American-style tablesaws like those from Saw Stop and Powermatic.
