After a half-hearted attempt at a law degree, Alf Sharp decided he was meant to be a woodworker. Thirty years later, he’s still at it with enthusiasm. He specializes in period furniture and was the 2008 winner of the Cartouche award, the Society of American Period Furniture Makers’ highest honor. He’s also well-known for contemporary work, and serves on The Furniture Society’s executive committee.
