Andy Dilley
My name is Roland Andrew Dilley, I was born on April/28/1986 in Avon Park, Florida. Growing up I never really expressed much interest in woodworking, a little here and there. But one day something just clicked, I was at a point in where I had no idea what I wanted to do with my life. I grew up in agriculture and wanted something new, so I tried college and that didn’t work out, then construction and no dice. It was in December of 2006 I had a wild hair and built my first piece of furniture using what ever tools I could find. I purchased some Black Walnut and African Zebra wood and built a sofa table with three drawers. It was at that point I knew what I wanted to do with my life, that was all it took for me to figure it out, I was hooked. It took me a while to get things going, that is why it wasn’t until October 2007 I started my company. Throughout my life I had always been a perfectionist so I already had one of the primary ingredients for success in the industry and the rest I figured I could learn. Learn I did researching everything from joinery, to wood movement, to wood species, and finishes. It all just made sense to me, it just clicked. It wasn’t long before I had more knowledge that most of the people I had been asking questions. Once I learned the basics I used creativity and my mentality that anything was possible to build my unique designs. You see when I design I don’t think about ways to build the piece, I design and then figure out how to build it. Doing this gives you the ability to produce pieces that boggle the mind, and truly amaze. There are endless possibilities and no limits it allows you to really push the boundaries of furniture making maximizing your function and beauty.
