Born and raised in Colorado, Brian Hubel began his woodworking career playing with scraps in his grandfather’s shop. By high school, he had received a benchtop tablesaw for Christmas and was building furniture. Today, his two children, Oliver and Zoe, have a bench in their dad’s Colorado Springs shop where they build tables, benches, and little cabins from their own box of scraps. Hubel even trusted them (after some instruction) to sand an entire veneered tabletop. Hubel says he loves his town and the mountains around it, where he and his family can ride bikes, swim, fish, backpack, ski, and climb.
