At age 13, Brian Roy got a Sears tablesaw from his dad. Thirty-two years later, this South Carolina woodworker can still hear his father’s voice saying “watch your fingers!” and counts himself lucky he still has all 10. Inspired by James Krenov’s book A Cabinetmaker’s Notebook in high school, he cut his first dovetails with a hacksaw. Later, he studied under Krenov himself at College of the Redwoods in Fort Bragg, Calif.
