When Christopher Solar left his high-tech job as a software designer in the telecom industry, he began “dabbling clumsily in woodworking, making furniture more akin to a forklift skid than something you’d find in FWW.” Soon after, he took a few courses at Rosewood Studios to gain a foundation in technique, and for the past decade he’s been making custom furniture in his small basement shop in the old part of downtown Ottawa, Ontario. How small? “Some final assembly does happen in the living room.”
