Dave works as an instructor, teaching folks all over the world and in all sorts of disciplines how to use SketchUp and LayOut. He also does freelance furniture design and development of a wide variety of 3D models. He retired after twenty years working for the largest medical facility in southeast Minnesota as an Instructor of Anesthesiology and Biomedical Equipment Technician, specializing in anesthesia, respiratory and other critical life support equipment.
In his spare time Dave likes to work in his garage woodworking shop. He’s made a wide variety of wooden items from salad tongs to boats. He started using SketchUp almost twenty years ago with version 3. It is an ideal tool for the woodworker. Dave uses it for designing projects, working out joinery details, and figuring out the order of operations to make efficient use of time in the shop. His drawings range from simple sketches with little detail to completely rendered images used for presentations and publication. Dave is also a mentor with the local FIRST Robotics Team 2530.
