John McCormack is a graduate of the Cabinet and Furniture Making Program at Boston’s North Bennet Street School and has a Master’s in furniture design from the Rhode Island School of Design. Commenting on the radically different design traditions of the two schools, he says: “I consider myself a furniture-making ecumenist.”
In addition to making and designing furniture, McCormack taught woodworking at Laney College and other schools. He is currently teaching Woodworking and 3D Art (Furniture) at Mission San Jose High School in Fremont, CA. Click here to see examples of student work.
