Leah Amick is a furniture maker and product designer in Portland, Ore., where she shares a large shop with a few other woodworking pros. She grew up in rural Indiana and spent her childhood summers in Finland, where her mother was born. After studying industrial design at Purdue University, she earned a master’s in furniture design from the Rhode Island School of Design (RISD). Her work is in the permanent collection of the RISD Museum of Art and has been featured in Apartment Therapy, Design Milk, and House Beautiful.
