Mary May was first drawn to traditional European carving during a trip to the continent in her early college years. She went on to study under master carver Konstantinos Papadakis before moving to Greece and England to study there as well. Three decades later, Mary now runs her own online school, Mary May’s School of Traditional Woodcarving, and teaches regularly around the country. She’s even written the book: Carving the Acanthus Leaf (Lost Art Press, 2017).
