Asa Christiana has worked for Fine Woodworking since 2000, and served as the magazine’s chief editor from 2007 to 2014. He switched coasts in 2015, moving from rural Connecticut to Portland, Oregon, where he works as an editor-at-large for the magazine. Aside from writing the occasional article of his own, he edits and photographs articles by others and manages the Workshop Tips and Tools & Materials departments. He has written two recent books for woodworkers: Build Stuff with Wood (2017, Taunton Press), a project-by-project guide for beginners, and Build More Stuff with Wood (2022, Taunton Press), which follows in the same vein, adding new tools, skills, and projects.
