John Ryan has been perfecting the art of making Shaker oval boxes for nearly 30 years. He studied box-making first at Canterbury Shaker Village and later under the expert eye of his mentor, John Kassay, author of Shaker Furniture. In addition to simple and elegant Shaker boxes, John and his wife, Diane, have a line of Shaker-inspired contemporary woodenware. An accomplished chairmaker in the Shaker and Windsor styles, John has been featured in Early American Life magazine as one of America’s best. He’s been a member of the League of New Hampshire Craftsmen since 1992.
