The March/April 2020 issue features a tip for using a 1-2-3 block nested against a fence as a table saw crosscut stop using the 1 inch dimension.
This poses a serious kickback risk as the dimensions of the piece between the blade and the 1-2-3 block approach a square or the dimension being cut exceeds the dimension between the blade and the 1-2-3 block.
Using the 2 or 3 inch side of the block does not guarantee safety either as the thickness of the material being cut, not lifting the material parallel to the table and rotating it can cause the cutoff to exceed the distance between the blade and fence resulting in a kickback.

If the recommendation does not also include securing the block so that it cannot move, I would say that does seem a bit reckless.
