I want to build 10 kitchen plywood paneled cabinet doors with quirk-and-bead molding(13″x20″) as built by Mario Rodriguez. I want the plywood good on both sides but here in central NJ the best 1/4″ birch I can find is A-3 or A-4. Should I use this or keep looking for something better. Thanks for your help.

Rick ,
Depending on the species you are working with you most likely can obtain better . Usually the best will have an A face and a #1 back .
call cabinet hardwood suppliers
good luck dusty
It is actually possible to order A-A from a wholesaler, then the veneer on both sides should match.
Or do what I do and buy raw veneer and apply it to both sides of a sheet of 1/4" MDF.

Hal,
I'm not positive, but I don't think A-A exists comercially. I think the best you will easily get will be A-2. I bought some 1/4" A-2 today in cherry from Hogan Hardwoods - not sure if there's one in Rick's area.

Rick,
I'm not sure if they carry the grade you are looking for but did you try:

They are in right off the GSP. I have purchased 1/2" & 3/4" Baltic Birch Ply from them. Not sure if they have a3/a4 though.
