I’m wondering if anyone can help me out there. A couple of years ago I was fortunate enough to come across a PM 70 table saw. 12″ blade with an arbor diameter of 1″. Blades generally are not a problem to find. However I had just purchased a new 8″ carbide tipped stacked dado blade with a 5/8 arbor. I hate to take a beating on just getting rid of it, it works very well. Is there a place out there that will bore out the arbor to fit a 1″ arbor? I don’t know if blade manufacturers would do this on a blade that is not theirs. I believe that the 8″ dado would be sufficiently high enough to handle most of my needs.
Thanks

I think that Forrest might do this for you, they're pretty easy going about dealing with other company's blades. They'll probably recommend that you have the set resharpened to true it up after having the holes enlarged.

Any good sharpening service should be able to offer to do this or at least have the resources to recommend a place. You can buy bushings to use it on smaller arbors as well.
i second john's advice- forrest definitely does this sort of thing. seems to me it runs about $25-$30 for a dado set ($7 for single blades). unless you specifically tell them not to, they'll then re-sharpen the whole set to true the tips perfectly concentric to the new bore. not sure what the sharpening costs, but the bonus is you'll now have a forrest sharpened dado set which will be better than new. otherwise, if you're in or near a town of any size, most sharpening services should be able to handle it- maybe cheaper, too.

Thanks for the information on this subject. I'll check with forrest and see what the charges will be. The previous idea of getting a bushing to reduce it down to smaller sizes is also an excellent idea. I want to thank everyone for responding.
