I am having a 12″ Jointer @ 1,000lbs delivered via liftgate service on Thursday and wanted to know what the odds are that the driver will help me get it into my garage 15 feet from the curb? I ordered through Grizzley and my driveway is slanted down hill to my garage about 15 feet from the curb. It is a newer residential street with a standard cub cut for my driveway.
I am wondering if odds are good the driver will use his pallet jact to get the load off the lift gate and with my help into my garage?
or
Should I rent a pallet jack and be ready to take the pallet/machine from the curb to my garage?
Do I attempt to tip in beer, $, or workshop tips?
Its coming via UPS Freight which I looked up online and could not find anything specific and when they call to schedule delivery, I am afraid I’ll just be talking to a dispatcher and if I inquire about getting my freight into my garage they won’t have a clue other than their “company policy”.

UPS Freight finally droped off my new jointer a day late and with mix communications over the delivery time. Good news was the driver was very nice and with a little help he had it moved into my garage in about 2 minutes. I had no problem by myself un-crating it and getting it onto some HF dollies. The dollies are temporary.
