Hi. I’m new to this forum and looking forward to hearing from you.
I have a 12 inch planer that make a big dip about 12” into planing a board. I think something must be set wrong with the rollers or the top grabber (don’t know what it’s called). Any suggestions?
Thanks in advance!

Show us a photo. We'll be guessing until we can see it.
The first thing to check is the flatness of the bed. That includes the infeed and outfeed tables as well.
Raise the cutterhead to get it out of the way then lay a straightedge on the bed.

What you have is a snipe problem. Happens to everyone. 1 way to stop it is by running a piece of scrap of the same thickness in front of the project piece. A similar piece behind the project will help prevent snipe at the back.
Odd. I never get snipe when I use my hand planes.
Is this dip 12” into a board that is maybe 24” long, or is it at the end of a 12” board ? The more details, the better.
I made a melamine ‘table’ that sits inside the planer on the bed and extends out past the infeed and outfeed tables on each side. Blocks on the underside prevent it from moving.
It creates 1 smooth surface for planing and seems to solve my snipe issues.
+1 on the Table or Sled.
