I noticed this ad in the paper this morning:
Crescent Jointer , 16″ with 7 ft. bed, 4 blades, belt driven, cast. $250/best offer. Call 607-387-4339 after 8 PM (Eastern Time)
Sorry I know no details, but thought somebody might be interested. If somebody is interested and need help on this end, let me know. 607 area code is the Ithaca, NY area.

...that's a massive jointer at a great price.
wonderfull old equipment like this is a real find.. Expect to rebuild the unit completely for any degree of accuracy and expect that a machinist would be a major expense..
Just for information the cheapest I see a jointer that size sell for today is around $5000.00 and there is little actual differance between an old one and the new one in function or operation..
Do expect that it would be a three phase motor which would require either a new motor or a converter. Very few people have three phase in their homes or nearby..
