Noticed the other weekend while changing blades on my Grizzly 17″HD band saw that my tires are showing some age (5 years)by that cracking brittle etc. Any of you guys replaced your tires yet. I’m finding that you get tires in even numbers i.e. 12″,14″, .. 18″. I spoke with someone from Carter products and they sugested getting the 18″ and that its undersized by 25% and it would be a snug fit and use adheasive. Thoughts?

Same thing happened to my Grizzly band saw. I just ordered new tires from Grizzly and it's better than new. Very easy fix. The new tires seem to be of a more durable material than the original. There is a little lip on easch edge of the bull wheels that keep the tire in place, no adheasive needed.
Are the replacement tires crowned like the originals?
On mine the tires are just like big rubber bands and it's the bull wheels that have a slight crown.
hey bones,
i have an inca. 14", i think it is. the last time i put new tires on it, i found just how difficult this is. had to stretch, clamp and yank. no small task. i wonder why the grizz is so much easier...

Now that you mention it I do remember struggling with the tires a bit as you discribed. Once I learned the technique on the first one, the second one took much less time, the whole process taking less than 1/2 hour. I would still consider it a realativly easy fix.
The Swiss can be stuborn ;^)
Model number of your saw?
