I’m looking to buy a new 18″ bandsaw. My budget is 1500-2000
I heard that the 18″ bridgewood recently received good reviews
Any thoughts!

Oh geeeeeeeeeee.. My local Woodcraft has the 18 inch Ricon for 899? Well 200 less than I paid for mine.. Not selling? I LOVE my RICON...
See WOOD issue 166 November 2005.. Well, at least they agree with me!

Look for a used machine. That kind of cash can purchase a few 36" saws. A nice used 20" Powermatic or Delta can be had for less than half of that. Paid $300 for my 4 speed 36" Moak and $500 for my 20" Cresent.

I agree with the used saw plan. I was so disappointed with my 18" Jet that I replaced it with a 36" Tannewitz used. It became clear that using the Jet was like taking a pea shooter to a gunfight, no comparison.

USED, USED, USED!!!!!! Even an older 14" Delta with an Ittura Design tune up would be a much better buy.
