I am looking for examples of 1950s and 1960s period furniture, specifically dining room furniture. Does anyone know of websites or books that I can use?

Inspired House had an article on a home that had Heywood-Wakefield furniture. I thought this style had both a retro and timeless appeal so I searched online and found a few sites that sold Hey-Wake. These sites ( http://www.strictlyheywake.com/ and http://www.bobstaake.com/hw/info.html ) have a strong sampling of pieces.
Note that there is a remarkable amount being sold since it is now considered "collectible" so Google Heywood-Wakefield and see what else comes up. They are still making this furniture under the Heywood-Wakefield name in Florida by a firm that re-established in 1985. Check out their site at http://heywood-wakefield.com/ and click on "Company" to get the detailed history.
Sorry you'll need to be more specific, in the Fifties and Sixties my parents bought French Provincial furniture, it was all the rage.. Sorry couldn't resist <G>
And I bought a whole house full of Mediterranean stuff in the 60's..Guess that comes from being an old f--t...LOL
Here is a list of retro links.

A good source of the era is old Life magazines. Movies from the time are also great sources, I don't watch the movie much, just the background. Fab baby!
Beat it to fit / Paint it to match
Thanks all for the help. I will look into the web sites you provided.
Omigawd!!!! 50's and 60's retro??? That was only 40 or 50 years ago. How can that be retro? Our house has a fair amount of it. If you are near Upstate New York, come visit.
