Well ain't that a bugger.....I did a similar thing using a plunge router attachment for a router. I forget what brand now, it's in the shop and I'm too lazy to go look at it. Anyway, I left both slides, added the threaded rod with a few hardware chunks I had laying around, and it works great.
Anyone looking for a router lift should consider thinking about this. It's slick! Thanks Rick!
