Hello All,
Only about a week ago I was telling someone here on Knots how great those remote control do-jiggies are for the dust collector.
I want to rewire my DC to 240V, but I can’t find any of these simple remotes in other than 120V.
The one I have, the 120V, is a short in-line cord with a ~2″x 3″ box on it. Plug it in, use the remote button. No muss, no fuss. It cost less than $20. I sure would like to find one of those for 240V.
Could anyone who uses something like this steer me in the right direction?

I use this one and it has been trouble free.

Denis : Just to let you know there is a recall on those Shop Fox remotes like the one you showed you used, I also use the same one without an issue. Here is the link for the recall

I had that ShopFox one, but the buttons in the remotes broke. First one remote died, then the other. Grizzly said I couldn't buy replacements; they sell them only as complete sets including the power box. For a while, I had ugly replacement switches duct-taped to the outside of each remote. Eventually I gave up and bought a system from Woodcraft. It is more expensive than the ShopFox, but it has kept working for years.
I use the one from Penn State Industries, and it has been trouble free. I think it actually came from Grizzly, but it has The PSI name on it.
JB, the Long Ranger has been a standby for years, here's their 220V version.
Works great. No problems at all. Used mine for years. 2 remotes at strategic locations.
I wonder if our OP is thrown off by it (the Long Ranger) being designated 220 volt instead of 240.....forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
Could be, FG. Used to confuse me too. I do my own shop wiring (don't call inspection police, please - anything I do is always over-code) and years ago just decided to kind round off all those confusing numbers :) AND use heavier gauge wire than specified. No reason, just seemed like I couldn't go wrong.
I've used the PSI 220v one for more than a year too and think it's great. Can get it through amazon.
Good luck.
There is no difference in 220v and 240v. If you actually check the power coming in to your house or garage you will get a different reading depending on usage in the area (ie hot day and lots of air running). The power companies only have to meet within a percentage of the power that is stated to be coming in and the devices are made to run on this fluctuation. I used to know the percentage required in MI but have long since forgot and now I'm in NC and haven't worked with anything that I would need to know this.

"There is no difference in 220v and 240v." Yep, this I know. I just wasn't sure if it might have the OP wondering, since he wasn't seeing the remote he needed for his set-up. Turns out, he wasn't sidetracked by the voltage numbers, but something else was hexing his search.forestgirl -- you can take the girl out of the forest, but you can't take the forest out of the girl ;-)
I have this one from woodcraft that works up to 3hp and is 240v. I got an extra remote. I looked at several different brands but liked the size of the remote which is the size of a key fob you have for your car locks. I've had it for years with flawless execution.

All,
Thanks for the great suggestions! I can't believe I was wandering around out there in cyberspace and there are all these options, seemingly RIGHT THERE.
The 220v vs. 240v wasn't confusing, but thanks. I have the keyfob now for the 120v, and like it a lot. I like the 2 remote idea even better. Except, I hope I don't go out to my car and try to unlock it with the dust collector remote. That's why they make lime day-glo green paint though, right?
Thanks all.
