I have a chance to buy the Delta dust collector for $599 up here in Canada from an online tool dealer. I have a 22′ x 24′ garage that I do woodworking in sometimes and I really need some sort of dust collection system for my table saw and espicially my miter saw, the two tools that I use the most. The miter saw (Dewalt 12″) is bad for dust, even with a shop vac hooked up to it’s 1-1/4″ dust port on the back. I sometimes use my drill press, planner and Osc. spindle sander.
What I’d like to know is – would this dust collector be sufficient enough for the size garage I have?

Hi paul,
I'm just finishing installing the ductwork for a Delta 50-760 1½ HP Dust Collector. I must say it works very well so a 2 HP should be even better.
I've devised a system whereby the longest open ducting is less than 8' from machine to DC. I have a RAS and a CMS that will be sharing the same station and DC setup.
It is against the wall in my woodshop, gambrel pitch to aid in dust collection. I'm putting a large collection plate (the kind used for the TS) in a downdraft configuration with walls on either side to concentrate the dust onto the plate.
These dang tools spew sawdust all over the place! When I get it done I will post as a lot of folks seem to have issues with DC on these foul mouthed critters too.
