Anyone: Can someone refer me to a comparison review of 3 HP shapers? Thank you for this assistance.

Hi Hadley,
We haven't published a reveiw of shapers in the magazine, and I don't think you are going to find one in most of the newsstand woodworking magazines.
The reason is because most hobby woodworkers never graduate to the shaper. A 3 hp router and a shopmade router table is usually where most garage woodworkers top out. Obviously, the two aren't equal in strength but the shaper isn't as versitile of a tool as a router and therefore doesn't make it on most people's must-have tool list.
That said, a shaper is a perfectly good addition to a shop and can actually be a lot more friendly than most people think. Unfortunately, we don't have much information to help you out. I did find this article that gives an overview of the tool. No product reviews, however.

P.S. Sorry for the delay. I'm going to delete your other post.
Dear Mr. Berger: Thank you, thank you! I was just about to jump. Now I'll just go out and buy me a 3HP shaper...and I'll call it "Matthew"!
