HI, setting up my saw after a couple years in storage. Added new 20 amp 220v breaker at panel, dedicated outlet for saw. Removed capacitors to test, think I have them reinstalled correctly, but when I start saw it runs for 1-2 seconds before tripping breaker. New capacitors on the way, tested run cap and its in range for capacitance….anything else that could be causing this? Specifically, is it possible I have the caps wired incorrectly?

Not sure what your problem is. There are 2 wires going to a capacitor, and two connections on it. It doesn't matter to the circuit which way the two wires are connected to the two connectors. Same is true for resistors. Many other electrical components are not this way; polarity is critical.
When you say it runs for a second or two, do you mean that it starts getting up to speed as usual? If the new breaker is not defective, its tripping means that you have lots of excess current. That usually means a burnt wire in the windings of the motor. Any chance of rodent damage inside the motor? If you have another similar 220 v motor on another machine, you could check the breaker with it. If it seems sluggish when it tries to start, it could be a winding in the starting circuit that is bad.
Good luck!
Motor has two wires to the run capacitor, and a third which bridges to the start cap with a final wire for the other side of the start...exact same connection as prior shop, saw has been stored in a very well sealed shipping container for the past 2.5 years. New caps on the way tomorrow, but odd that it seems to want to start fine, which tells me it's not the caps...?
Fixed, run cap was miswired...all good!
