A few weeks ago, I received a post card from FineToolJ regarding this show and auction. Has anyone been to this show and auction, and is it worthy of a trek halfway across the country to attend. If so, what can one expect in terms of the quality and quantity of hand tools to both view and purchase.
Thanks for your replies.

BTW, the show I’m referring to is in Camp Hill, Pa on March 30th and 31st, 2007 at the Radisson Inn.

Walnutz,
Living in said area, I can attest the room/ballroom will be packed with people from all over 4 corners of the nation, and from several foreign countries. To confirm your interest, order the catalog on all the items being auctioned.
There is a spring auction and a fall auction. Record plane sold for approx $114,000.00. Yes, the comma and zeroes are in the correct places. Hundreds, probably thousands of pieces will be auctioned.
Whether the show is any good is all dependent on what you are interested in. Feel free to ask questions and I'll try to answer. I am sure there are others who can provide more info than me.

Thanks for the reply. I just wanted to confirm that I wasn't going to drive 1000 miles or whatever the distance is to hook up with 50 guys and a few boxes of old junk. I've never been to one, and would be interested in it for the experience, as long as I know that there will be plenty to gawk at. Nothin' like a weekend spent drooling over a monster collection of tools.

Walnutz,
Tonyz makes a good point. In general, this is not a flea market. This is an auction of great tools attended by a lot of people who are looking for things to add to their collection and are willing to pay real money.
HOWEVER, there are also a lot of things that you, depending on your particular needs, can find at a fair price. And, some bargains.
But, bring your bib or shop apron because drool you will.

I've been to the past several shows and plan to be there in March. The Friday preceeding has a lot of dealers with all sorts of tools. Some may argue if real bargains abound, however I've found more than a few (enough to keep me coming back).
