I cannot seem to find templates for making 4″ routed wood signs! The maxium available are 2 1/2″. I have looked at pantographs but they seem to flimsly to do accurate work. Of course I could go the CNC route but the cost is way beyond my budget. Any and all suggestions wecome

Bill ,
Have you tried Sears ?
I checked Sears about a week ago. They had a pantograph but it was lightweight and only did reductions. They did not have the templates in stock, but if they had, they would only go to 2 1/2"

pantographs are easy to make... Just use a good straight grained hardwood or better yet aluminum.. Hell, even I was able to make one!
I suppose you are right. But by the time I find the templates and then make a pantograph to do the enlarging and/or reduction I think I would be better off getting a unit already built. I am planning to make some street signs for our area on Smith Lake in AL.

But by the time I find the templates .. Gee any will do if you make a adjustable pantograph!
Have you tried Gerber Scientific?
