I have an old 6×48 belt sander, with a 12 in. disk sander. I don’t know what make it is, as it has no marking what so ever.
Now ever time I change the belt I have a lot of trouble keeping the belt from going to far to the left or to far to the right and slipping of the track. Now as you all know it has 2 wheels, and the front one can be ajusted. The left side of this wheel can be ajusted but it takes a bar to pull it forward and then it has to be tightened in place, while the right side has a nobe to ajust it (move the wheel back and forth. It seem’s to me that when I tighten nobe to tight the bent moves to the other side of the unit.
I just can’t seemed to be able to get it right without messing around with it for ever. Anyone out there got any idea’s.

Jack,
I have a Grizzly 6 X 48 sander (no disc, and the belt runs horizontally on edge). It works great but like yours is a little finicky in adjusting the belt so it tracks as it's supposed to. I've found that sometimes when it is just slightly off track, just removing the belt and flipping it around so it runs opposite direction is all it takes. Might work on yours. Gary
Garry its funny I played around with it to-day for a few minutes and I got it with no trouble at all. Other times I would get so frustrated I would want to spit.
I guess that the way the ball bounces.
Thanks to both of you.
