I have a small A/C that was given to me by a friend. It is one of those types that you can mount in the window. My question is this. The windows that I have for my shop are slider’s. My shop is stucco. So can I mount tat A/C or do I have to change the window to a double hung? I really woud prefer not to change the window. Or is this a question for the other form?

Air Conditioner
You're asking if the slider is strong enough or appropriate to hold the unit ?
I would say sure - open the slider as far as it goes - build a wood frame to fill the opening and mount the unit -

Most likely the unit is designed to mount horizontally. If the window is wide enough, you can certainly mount it and then fill in the area above it to seal things off. If you're asking about mounting the unit vertically, the answer is probably not.
Take a look at the manufacturer's website for confirmation, but I've personally never seen one that could be mounted that way.
More info
OK it fits a 26 and half inch opening. My Slider opens about 15 inches. It is brand new in the box. It is 18,000 BTU's I know I can't turn it on it's side. It is a Frigidaire brand. I'm wondering if there is any way to make it fit without replacing the window. Like a venting kit or something. I know the slideris strong enough. I'm asking is there anyway or anything that any one has come up with an idea to make one fit. Or should I buy one for a slider
Cool The Shop
The units that are meant to be placed sideways are typically made for casement windows - and they are more like 9000 BTU. If it was me - I wouldn't want to loose the window utility or light it provides. Consider going through the wall and make a permanent application.
I don't know if an air conditioner can be turned sideways - I know you can't do it with a dish washer !

Choices
Buying a vertical unit would be easier than changing the window. Something like this one:
