This is my self-congratulatory moment. Like all of us I have a table saw. But I wanted a table dedicated to ripping small, thick, odd-shaped or sheet pieces. My solution, I took the table off my circular saw, drilled and countersunk 4 holes so I could attach it to whatever table I wanted.
Example: there’s 1/4″ wide slot in the center of my workbench where the blade on the circular saw protrudes from underneath. It only offers a 4-1/2″ cutting depth but I knew that going in. With the whole benchtop as a table, ripping sheet goods is easier than ever.
The fun part is I don’t have to reach under the table to turn it on. An auxillary switch you can buy just about anywhere solved that problem.
So, in all, it might not be for you but it works beautifully for these aging legs.

Good on ya congrats on the build.
It sounds terrifying...but I'd like to see a photo anyway.
Congrats on your creation. Like _MJ_ I cringe because you mention no fence but, would like to see it.
