So, I finally made the decision a few months back to sell off my Festool equipment and leave powered woodworking behind. After many hours of reading and video research I purchased several Lie Nielsen planes and various saws to replace the equipment I had sold. The funny thing ( to me anyway) and reason for this post is that after a few months of shop time using biomass instead of electrical power… my favorite plane by far is a #5 Clifton that I got as part of a trade…

Clifton planes are every bit as high a quality as Lie Nielsen, if not arguably better, no surprise here...
Congratulations! I too have found much more satisfaction in hand tool work than doing the same job with power tools. Not being totally crazy....I do have a nice bandsaw and a Festool sander. I sure enjoy sanding more when the sawdust extraction is operating.
Made me think, that since long ago, my own biomass joules far outweighed those electrical ones..
I got done hand sawing tenons last night and said to myself "that was a good workout"
Yeah, just finished 6 cuts on a chunk of oak. 6x14 crosscuts... I admit I was thinking about my chainsaw in the middle of the third cut.
