My name is Mark I am looking for a specific blade guard for a table saw.
I run a small shop and have trouble convincing carpenters that they need to use a blade guard on a table saw. I did see one in the 2000 September/October issue of Fine Woodworking on page 78 which looks like exactly what I am looking for. Every carpenter I’ve shown it to also likes its design so that is the one I am trying to find. Any help out there would be appreciated.

The yellow one, right? That's the Excaliber. Here's a link:

I have it and like it. The DC efficiency is very good. I also use the Biesmeyer splitter. It's a pretty safe combo. I hardly ever have to remove it, but when I do it takes just a turn of 1 ratcheted handle.

Mark ,read the review of the guards in FWW I have an Excalibur and like it the exacta is almost identical and they both put significant torque on the extension table .With a bit of ingenuity it is possible to modify the mounts to eliminate this. However I found that it torqued the fence rails (Excalibur fence) enough to misalign the fence albeit slightly
The only contact I ever met from Sommerville Design (excaliber) was Wayne Johnston .He was extreamly helpful Phone no( 905)831-4755 They probably could fabricate one for you from their stock extrusions.I don't know if they have a web site
Hi Mark,
I use a Brett saw guard. It really works great. See it at:

I have it mounted to the ceiling in the shop but I can remove it and take it with me to a job site to fit onto my portable table saw. I prefer this to others I've tried. The factory INCA guard is also very nice.
