As a novice in the art of wood turning I would like to subscribe to a magazine dedicated to such. Any suggestions?

The only one I have seen is an English one at Barnes and Noble. I think it's called "Woodturning". http://www.woodcentral.com has a turning forum is free. Try a search on http://www.google.com for more ideas. There's some good books out there as well and woodturning clubs or organizations so in no time you will have plenty.
Hi Al
The two magazines that I have seen that are exclusive to wood turning are from England where woodturning seems to have a large following.
1 As already mentioned Woodturning , a monthly by G.M.C Publications

2 The Woodturner by Nexus Special Interests Limited this may be quarterly

The first magazine that comes to mind is the one published by the American Association of Woodturners, American Woodturner. It is an outstanding publication. By subscribing you not only help yourself but you also help a group dedicated to woodturning. Visit their site and join.
