I just found the latest spokeshave from Lee Valley. I know how fond you are of their shaves. ‘Course you won’t use it on your new scuttle legs but mebbe a cob or three?

I see Lee Valley is still having fun with their April Fools tools.;-)
I never buy two handed tools. How would I hold my cigar and gin bottle? These durned manufacturers never think things through.

don't fall for it. stay with the grain. run end to end with your drawknife followed by a sharp spokeshave and live with the little facets. someday someone will run their fingers along a spindle and say "hey you can tell this was done by hand - just touch this"
