Hi
I am new to this forum but I cannot think of a better place to post this query.
I just found and bought this Stanley 120 Block plane (clearly stamped into the toe near the knob).
I have never seen this style of a 120 and I am wondering if
1. Anyone else has ever seen one
2. If anyone knows the production years
3. Any idea as to value.
The lever cap looks like a close cousin to a “120 knuckle” but the lever cap is clearly a flat piece of iron and not ground down from a knuckle.
The tension screw fits into a separate piece that is allowed to pivot on the lever cap and not firmly affixed like the usual knuckle cap.
Any ideas?
Cheers

It's a Frankenplane. Neither the lever cap or knob are Stanley parts. They were user made when the originals were broken or lost.
Here's a link to your particular plane. All the Stanley planes are listed there. Patrick has quite the sense of humor. I'm not sure you'll find his review of the Stanley 120 very amusing though.

Thanks for the clarification
