Guys: (and Gals)
I plan to move up from Delta contractor’s saw to a 3 hp saw. I really like the looks of the new Powermatic Model 66 with the 50″ Accufence, cabinet and Rout-R-Lift. Is anyone familiar with this outfit? Do you know if it has a mobile base available?
How, in general, does Powermatic, now that it is owned by Jet, compare to Delta? Anyone that haas bought one recently have advice?
Thanks,
Scotty

To All:
I posted a message ( my first) on the 28th of February re: Delta vs. Powwermatic table saws but have yet to get any advice- did I post something wrong or does no one want to comment?
You can see from the message number (124) that this forum does not get a lot of action. Try posting in Knots (with over 6000 messages). There might be more replies there.
I've not used either saw you mentioned.
I have used a Powermatic 66 for 15 years with out any problems. The 66 weighs a couple of hundred lbs more than the Deltas. The biesmyer fence is great, better than most if not all the other brands. I looked at the Delta at the same trade show that I got the 66,I went for the extra money for the Powermatic. Both saws will do the job but its nice to work with the best tools you can get.
hi
i have a delta uni saw with the 52 fence im not sure about any jet products when powermatic was powermatic i know it was a tough choice! but i went with the delta it was the name at the time to live by
as to the mobile bases most of them are universal
Thanks for your help. I think I have decdied to get the Delta Unisaw with the Biesemeyer.

BIG INVESTMENT BUT IT WILL LAST A LIFETIME !! YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR .Now we have to talk blade types & dado cutters
If you haven't bought your saw yet, really think hard on the PM66. I believe they are just as good as ever. I got a pre-Jet and love it. Changes seem to be for the better. The extra weight does really help. Yes a mobile base is available, and, yes they do last a lifetime.
