Adhering a router template to plywood without clamps
I have a shaped 1/2″ thick template I want to replicate using my router table and a flush-trim bit. Is there a way I can temporarily adhere the template to my work piece without clamps or nails/screws? Many thanks for your advice!

Double sided tape?
2 sided tape.
Or maybe screw it down if the screw holes are placed where subsequent pieces of wood will be attached thereby hiding the screw holes

You can buy turner's tape, which is an extra strong double-sided tape. I've used this successfully to attach router templates. This is one version of that: https://www.rockler.com/double-sided-turners-tape and here's a similar product: https://www.woodcraft.com/products/woodworking-tape-1-x-50.
Turners tape is the way to go. Regular old two-sided tape from big blue or big orange just won't do it. Turners tape is strong enough that it won't slip during your routing. In fact, it bind so strong you may have trouble separating the template from the wood if it's not strong enough. It's expensive $20 a roll or so, but worth it.
Yes, good point about how strong it is. You should experiment with how much to use. If you were using a 1/8"-thick template, you might wind up cracking it during removal.
There is a double sided tape that's been discussed favorably on this website as well as Katz-Moses' site. It won't move while routing and it releases without much hassle. I bought it, used it to hold a template, and found that it performed beautifully.
Intertape 591.
Spectape.
Thank y0u all for the information I needed. I very much appreciate it. My turner's tape is on the way!
Late to the party, you could try CA glue ( super glue) and pop it off by smacking it after.
Also hot glue from a glue gun...
Good luck
Agree with the carpet tape and add plastic autobody wedges to easily separate the pieces without damaging them.
Disagree on the carpet tape. It can move and can be devil getting off.
I use one called XFasten and really like it.
I use a vacuum pump, bit spendy for a good one but can be used on many templates
